Nog even geduld dus…

New showroom alert: Monoqool

New showroom alert: Monoqool

Last week we introduced the showroom of Kilsgaard and this week we add another Danish brand to our ever-growing list of showrooms: Monoqool. Like its predecessor, this brand is also rooted in the Danish design tradition: simple ideas, perfect execution…

There are two words that best describe the design philosophy of Monoqool: innovation and sustainability. Innovation thanks to the techniques they use like 3D printing: frames are built up from layers as thin as 0.1 mm of solidified powder. Any excess powder is reused for up to 98%, making this way of manufacturing a sustainable choice. The printing is done in Denmark which drastically reduces CO2 emissions (no need to ship the collections from factories all over the world to Denmark).

All 3D printed frames are screwless and weigh a maximum of 6 grams which guarantee the highest user comfort. Add to that a Danish sense of minimalistic style and even a bit of humor, and there you have it: Monoqool.

You can check out the Monoqool collection in the new showroom.

New showroom alert: Kilsgaard

New showroom alert: Kilsgaard

It’s finally time for us to present to you the showroom of Danish brand Kilsgaard Eyewear. And like all other things Danish, Kilsgaard’s aesthetic is clean and minimal. As they say: Kilsgaard is eyewear brought back to the essence...

It can of course be fun to wear glasses and sunglasses that are totally on trend. But the thing with fashion trends is they tend to pass quickly to be replaced by other trends. So, if you want to be sure you will be happy with the frame of your choice for a long time, you better pick a timeless design. Kilsgaard is one of the brands you should then definitely consider.

Part of the Kilsgaard design philosophy is taking a single idea and trying to find the clearest and best possible way to express that idea into a frame. The result is a collection of optical glasses and sunglasses without any unnecessary details. Clean lines and high-quality materials give these frames a timelessness that is beautifully minimalistic. Doing more by doing less.

OJO Vol. 2: Etnia Barcelona X Ignasi Monreal's capsule collection

OJO Vol. 2: Etnia Barcelona X Ignasi Monreal's capsule collection

They did it before and with success, so now Etnia Barcelona and artist Ignasi Monreal are again joining forces to launch OJO Vol. 2: a capsule collection of limited-edition sunglasses that add something very special to your face: an extra set of eyes...

Ignasi Monreal is called the enfant terrible of the Spanish art world. He joins apparently opposing references like art history and videogames to form his own visual world. Together with the design team of Etnia Barcelona, Monreal basically created a piece of jewelry disguised as a pair of sunglasses. Or the other way around… Either way, when you wear the Ignasi – it comes in lavender, jade green and classic Havana – you can be sure people will notice you. The rectangular frame is made from thick acetate and has an eye-popping detail on the temples: a pair of beautiful dark green eyes. Only 300 pairs will be available of each color so be quick if you want a pair!

Rita Ora and Silhouette: a perfect match

Rita Ora and Silhouette: a perfect match

Silhouette found a new brand ambassador in singer Rita Ora. And so, Rita will be rocking the Futura Dot this Summer, just like other musical icons did back in the 70s. But be quick if you also want a pair: this re-edition is limited to 1964 pieces only...

Rita Ora is not only a pop star but also a fashion icon who is not afraid to make a statement with her outfits which makes her the perfect match with Silhouette. The futuristic looking Futura Dot is the perfect accessory with which she can top off her outfits.

The Futura Dot was originally made for the catwalk only but turned out to be so popular Silhouette quickly decided to put this model into production. With success. It had several updates over the years, without ever losing its unique futuristic look and feel. To keep the latest Special Edition version of this pair of sunglasses exclusive, there are only 1964 pairs sold worldwide.
