Patrick Dempsey and Porsche Design are back at it

Patrick Dempsey and Porsche Design are back at it

Earlier this year, we wrote about how Porsche Design and Patrick Dempsey are the perfect match. Seeing their new Fall campaign, we can confirm they still are. Dempsey shines in it, wearing two new frames that are available at selected stores as of now...

If the iconic Porsche 911 car is on the top of your list of Most Desirable Cars, then this titanium prescription frame should be on the top of another of your lists: Most Beautiful Frames I’d love to Wear. As part of the Liquid Titanium collection, this lightweight model is inspired by the silhouette of the 911. The P’8387 frame is casual, but classy. Sporty, but chic. Same as with the car basically. Patrick Dempsey looks good wearing it, and we’re pretty sure you will too.

Porsche also introduces a new pair of titanium sunglasses to its collection. These squared aviators have the interchangeable lens system Porsche invented in the late 1970s, but now even more visible than in the original frame with this system. It gives these sunglasses an extra strong and masculine feel, while still being classy and timeless.

For more glasses and sunglasses, as well as selling points, we suggest you visit our Porsche Design showroom.

How to match your glasses with your (new) clothes. The Scotch & Soda edition.

How to match your glasses with your (new) clothes. The Scotch & Soda edition.

At Scotch & Soda they’re ready for Fall! This Amsterdam-based brand is best known for one thing and that is their use of prints. Their new collection includes some nice, new prints for him and her. And we’ve found some cool glasses and sunglasses to match…

Scotch & Soda has probably never had a collection without print, and this new one for coming Fall is no exception. The men’s collection includes a variation of nice plaids, cool and almost comic-like embroideries, and cloud-like prints. All in a muted color palette of browns, orange, and dark greens. For women, we see lots of florals, often combined with a graphic pattern. Again, in this warm palette of brown, burgundy and dark yellows.

Besides clothes, Scotch & Soda also has a wide range of optical frames and sunglasses. So why not update your eyewear together with your wardrobe? To give you some ideas on how to do that, we selected some of Scotch & Soda’s new prints and matched them with the coolest glasses and sunglasses.

Curious to see what else Scotch & Soda eyewear has to offer? In our showroom you can find even more inspiration.

Theo matches the colors of the season

Theo matches the colors of the season

Time to put those bright-colored sunglasses away for the coming months. A new season is on its way and with that comes a new color palette of warm, earthy tones. Havana is a color that goes perfectly with these beautiful Fall hues. See for yourself...

It’s a classic that suits a lot of people: Havana-colored glasses and sunglasses. It’s also a color that works especially well in the colder seasons, when everything in nature goes from bright green to golden yellow, red, and brown.

A lot of brands have them in their collection, but today we want to highlight a small collection by Theo Eyewear. Three frames that, even though they don’t have the bright colors we’re used to seeing from Theo, still have that distinctive Theo flavor to them.

Eco Eyewear’s Fall/Winter 2021 collection

Eco Eyewear’s Fall/Winter 2021 collection

Slowly but surely more and more brands are presenting their new collection for the coming season. Like Eco Eyewear, one of our favorite sustainable eyewear brands out there. This season they are introducing us to their newest eco-material: bio acetate.

Next to their frames made of recycled materials like metal and plastic waste from our oceans, Eco Eyewear is now making frames out of bio-based acetate. This acetate is made from natural cotton and wood pulp which makes it completely biodegradable.

The bio acetate is used for a set of eight bold and colorful frames, that come in three colorways each. Eco’s renowned optical glasses with clip-ons are made from bio based or recycled materials. They also come in eight new models, but here you can choose from four colors. Add to that three pairs of sunglasses, and the Eco Eyewear collection is complete.

If you like the idea of wearing sustainable glasses, do have a look at our showroom and see what else Eco Eyewear has to offer.

Eyewear trends of AW21/22

Eyewear trends of AW21/22

A new season brings new trends and we at NanaWoody&John thought it was about time to get you updated on the eyewear trends of this year’s Fall and Winter season.

Big & Bold

In the past years, thin-rimmed glasses and sunglasses have been very popular. We’ve seen them everywhere. And of course, as happens with so many trends, the opposite of this minimalistic style is now becoming more and more trendy. Say ‘bye bye’ to subtlety and ‘hello!’ to bigger and bolder styles that come in both metal and acetate.

Distinguishable luxury

The previous trend of big & bold goes hand in hand with the tendency to wear exclusive statement frames as real fashion accessories. It’s perfectly okay for people to notice your glasses or sunglasses and remember them. Don’t ever be shy about wearing glasses and showing people what you like, be proud!

Sustainable eyewear

Just like in other realms of the fashion world, sustainability is getting a lot of attention in the world of eyewear. Brands try to reduce their carbon footprint, streamline their production processes and look for new and better materials to use. Lens companies experiment with using less water while producing lenses and of course, recycling materials is a big thing.

Slow fashion

A big part of becoming more sustainable as an eyewear brand is making your customers aware of the importance of buying high-quality glasses and sunglasses that will last you a long time. No need to throw away your frames after just one season because of faulty screws, a bad fit, or cheap materials that scratch and break. Fast fashion is so last season.

Tinted lenses

We saw this trend first with rimless frames, but it soon extended to other styles. With tinted lenses, you can give the frame of your choice that bit extra and make them more fitting with your personal style and taste. The best opticians out there offer a wide range of options from soft pink or orange to cooler tones like blue and green.

Why constrict yourself to women’s glasses when you can also rock some cool, bold frames from Cazal? And if you love a cat-eye, why not wear it even though you’re a guy? No one can decide which frames work for you and which do not, but you. Be yourself, choose whatever you like and rock that style!
